Goatscaping around Lake Norman.

Shoreline buffers, steep waterfront lots and HOA common areas — some of the strongest ground for grazing anywhere we work.

Why the lake makes grazing the obvious tool

Waterfront property comes with a constraint most other sites don't: everything you apply near the shoreline eventually reaches the water. That rules out a lot of conventional vegetation control on exactly the ground that needs it most — the steep, brushy drop between the house and the lake.

Goats solve both halves of that problem at once. They work slopes a mower can't sit on, and there's nothing to run off into the water. On lots where the bank has been left alone for a decade, grazing is usually cheaper than a hand crew and far less disruptive than bringing equipment down to the shoreline.

What we're usually called for here

  • Steep shoreline banks that have grown over and blocked the view
  • Buffer strips where chemical control isn't appropriate near water
  • HOA common areas, detention basins and neighborhood buffers
  • Privet, honeysuckle, briars and greenbrier through wooded lot edges
  • Larger Iredell County acreage that's gone unmaintained
  • Property manager and developer parcels needing to be opened up
